Two events aimed at talking about the presence of young adults in OIMC Churches were held last month. Young adults from various churches in OIMC gathered near Lake Tenkiller and the Chickasaw Retreat and Cultural Center to share their ideas and thoughts with each other. Conversations were centered on the need of our churches to meet the needs of young adults related to Native culture, worship, social media, and much more.
Participants came up with the idea to host a “Worship Service” the weekend before Annual Conference to be engaged in mission and worship. The group talked about the importance for them to engage in outreach and mission as a part of the worship. The event will be held at Camp Canyon, May 29-31. More information will be shared soon.
Thank you to the Young Clergy Initiative which provided funds for the events to look at the recruitment of young clergy in the Church.
