The Conference Council on Youth Ministry Elects New Officers For New Year


The Conference Council on Youth ministries met on October 22-23 in Oklahoma City to elect new officers and set the calendar for the new year.
 

Those officers who were elected were as follows: Chairperson, Courtney Tsotigh, Norman First American, Vice Chairperson, Joseph McHenry, Claremore Christ; Secretary, Jessica McHenry, Claremore Christ; Worship Leader, Alan Lewis, Kulli-Chito; Public Relations, Pam Ahhaitty, J.J. Methvin; Jurisdictional Youth Team Representatives: Lancer Ringlero from Norman First American, Isaac Tartsah from Ware’s Chapel, and Devin Wiegmann (alt) from Norman First American..
The theme for the new year will be “Know Christ, Know Future” and will be based on Jeremiah 29:11.
 

The conference youth will also be sponsoring an overnight lock-in at the Cleveland County YMCA in Norman Friday Night beginning at 8:30 p.m. There will be a $10 dollar registration fee for each youth in attendance. Swimming, basketball, and other activities will be available during the overnight event.
 

The youth are also encouraged to bring pennies for a penny war between males and females. Proceeds will be given to the Youth Service Fund.
 

Also, youth groups are encouraged to bring spare winter garments to the event. Collected garments will be donated to the Comanche Nation Youth Shelter.
 

The youth also set the date for next summers Conference Youth Camp, which will be held in the Northeast District. The camp is being planned for July 18-22.
 

The next Conference Council on Youth Ministry meeting is to be held January 16, 2005, in the Southeast Region.
 

The Conference Council on Youth Ministries is made up of three youth representatives and one adult representative from each of the four regions from across the conference.
