Youth and Children Workers

In 2003 the Council on Local Church Ministries implemented the Safe Sanctuary policies for all those who plan to help at camps and/or activities that involve working with youth and children. Phase I of this policy requires that all children and youth workers be screened and approved as adult volunteers. Phase II covers the Policies and Safety Standards for Children and Youth Events.

This process includes the completion of an application form that includes a Statement of Disclosure and two reference forms. Once these are received in the office, a background inquiry will be made to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. These applications are good for a quadrennium or for four years. Therefore as we begin a new quadrennium it is imperative that our leader files be updated. All applications will be kept in the strictest confidence.

Please keep in mind that anyone who is 18 years of age, and older, who are working with children and/or youth, whether directly or indirectly, (such as security, cooking, etc.) must complete an application and have it on file in the conference office.

Please contact the conference office (405-632-2006) to obtain applications or to check on your status.
