Churches in the Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference paid 80% of its yearly apportionments for 2005.
Last year in 2004, the churches of the OIMC paid 77%, while in 2003 the churches paid 87%.
Despite the lower percentage in paid apportionments, the conference has increased its dollar amount from $85,000 in 2003 to just under $117,000 in 2005. The churches of the conference have increased their giving by nearly $32,000.
Those churches that have paid 100% are Arbeka, Broken Arrow, Canterbury, Concharty, D.D. Etchieson, Fife, Grant Chapel, Haikey Chapel, Kaney Chapel, Lawrence Indian, Little Cussetah, Mutteloke, Nagawee, New Hope, Newtown, Pickett Chapel, Salt Creek, Springfield, Springtown, Stilwell, Sullivan Chapel, Thlopthlocco, Tulsa Indian, Bethel Hill, Big Lick, Bobb-Myers, Boiling Springs, Bokchito, Cane Hill, Choctaw Academy, Dallas Indian, Goodland, Goodwater, Grace Chapel, Hampton Chapel, Kullichito, Kullituklo, Mitchell Memorial, Nanih Chito, Old Cedar, Pennington, Seeley Chapel, St. Paul-Talihina, Sulphur Springs, Tohwali, Whitesand-Bennington, William-Anderson, Yasho, Botone Memorial, Cache Creek, Hunting Horse, J.J. In addition to the strong apportionment giving, payment of local church property insurance also was strong. 80% of the conference’s property insurance was submitted for 2005. Sixty-four OIMC churches paid 100% of their property insurance, while an additional 11 churches contributed funds.
As the costs of apportionments and property insurance continues to rise, the churches of the OIMC have continued to meet the challenge by also increasing the amount paid by the local churches.
