Out of abundance of caution and in awareness of public health, the 2021 Annual Conference Session of The Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference has been altered due to the increase of covid-19 cases across the state.

Bishop Jimmy Nunn, Resident Bishop of the Oklahoma Area, announced that the conference session will be held 10:30 a.m. until noon on Saturday, August 28, 2021. The only order of business will be the adoption of the 2022 Conference Board of Pensions report and the OIMC budget. Following the business, there will be a commissioning service for Jennifer Neal, who was approved in 2020 for service as a probationary Deacon in OIMC.

Per social distancing recommendations, only the lay delegates and pastors will be seated under the tabernacle.  The cabins will not be serving any meals and there will be no other services beyond the abbreviated conference schedule.

“Sadly, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic continues to cause great harm and grief around the world even as great strides have been made in reducing and containing its impact,” Bishop Nunn said.

“I recognize the great work that the Southeast Region has done to prepare for the annual conference session,” Bishop Nunn said, “And yet we have to look after the needs of one another in these times.”
