The Rev. Margaret Johnson shared a heartwarming account of her experience at the NE Region Youth Rally hosted by DD Etchieson United Methodist Church on Feb. 3, 2024 in Tahlequah.
Despite the challenging cold and rainy weather, she was greeted with warmth upon her arrival. Reflecting on the event, she recalled being impressed by how the youth used social media to encourage participation. The Rev. Johnson was particularly struck by the organization and leadership demonstrated by the youth. She witnessed a wellexecuted meeting with inspiring speakers and inclusive activities.
“I was truly touched when a young boy, not yet of youth age, eagerly volunteered to help close the session,” Johnson recalled. “His enthusiasm and readiness to participate spoke volumes about the impact of the youth group.”
She says the event served as a beacon of inclusivity and empowerment, welcoming all young souls waiting for their chance to join.
